Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) utilizes medications that are molecularly/chemically identical to those made naturally in the body. Conventional hormones can contain a combination of estrogens derived from equine urine and progestins that can have undesirable side effects.

Dr. Lassila has worked as a family physician for 17 years. With experience in Community Health, Eating Disorders, Women's Health and as a Lactation Consultant, she has had many years in managing a wide variety of women's wellness concerns in an allied team approach. This variety of experience has supported Dr. Lassila's appreciation of alternative treatments. It has also fostered her desire to look deeper into managing hormonally related symptoms and developing a true preventative care practice for women.
Graduated from the University of Ottawa Medical School and completed her Family Medicine Residency program at University of Calgary. She has worked for the University of Calgary's Department of Family Medicine Residency Program NE Division Director as well as on the Curriculum Development Committee.
A passionate and dynamic professional, Dr. Lassila holds a degree in Family Medicine, is a certified Menopause Practitioner (NCMP), as well as a Lactation consultant (IBCLC). She is completing her Fellowship in Anti-aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine for the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) and is currently completing her certification in Advanced Metabolic Endocrinology in the A4M program founded by world BHRT expert Dr. Pamela Smith, MD.
Having both a degree in Family Medicine and training in functional medicine/BHRT allows use of a wide variety of tools to help you achieve your optimal health so you can live a healthier and happier life.
